DMDE - Recovery of deleted files
In this article we will look at the process of recovering deleted files using DMDE program.
1. Select "Logical Disks". Then select the disk from which you deleted the file. Click "Open".
2. Highlight Volume and click "Open Volume".
3. If there is a Quick Scan option, click "Quick Volume Scan".
4. Go to the folder, check the deleted files (those with “trash bin” icons).
Click "Recover", and select the folder to recover to.
If the files were deleted to the Recycle Bin, then go to the Recycle Bin and check the files from there, but unfortunately the files in the Recycle Bin will be renamed.
You can select the top-level checkbox, and when recovering in the File Categories leave a checkbox only next to the deleted files. The folders where deleted files are found are marked with a brown dot.
To recover files from several folders at once, you will need a paid version.
If you deleted files from an SSD drive, you will most likely not be able to recover them due to TRIM optimization technology used on SSD drives. Similar technologies are also used on some hard disks, so-called SMR disks. In addition, it is also no longer possible to recover overwritten data. For example, modern operating systems can overwrite deleted data on the system disk within minutes after deletion. Therefore, it is recommended to stop working with the disk as soon as possible to prevent overwriting.
Also, the probability of success in recovering deleted data depends on the file system.
