I never thought a program this helpful would ever exist. It actually worked for me, I was able to recover data that I thought I had forever lost on an external SSD. You have nothing to lose by trying this program out, all it takes is some common sense and a little bit of time. Great job developer!

The language you use in the program is largly unpractical. Like you had something to prove making this application to try to make it for only those with the most tech savvy lexicon.
There is a reason your company is undervalued; your customer service sucks. Your application has the GUI of a pre90s computer. This program as it is, is not worth more than $20.
Fix your program or live with the reality that you are scamming people.

UI is terrible

I had 14 T on two drives in an external enclosure. Out of the blue (no warning) it went blank. When I removed them they both showed in Windows as unallocated needing formatting for use. No way. I tried another (the most prominent site) program that showed some of the data. But when I used the paid version all I recovered was gibberish.Then I discovered DMDE. Super. I had unmentionable important stuff on there.
Of course I still need new drives for the recovery but then I can save the old ones for plug in backups. I have most of it backed up on the cloud and local via Macrium but not all. Time to revisit my backup strategies. DMDE is the only recovery software that I've ever found to actually work. Regards.

I was able to recover most of the missing photos in my SD card using DMDE. DMDE is a very useful software.

I have a Western Digital NAS PL4100, with two disks in RAID 1. When one of the disks failed, I replaced the broken disk but the RAID state kept saying "degraded". When I replaced the second disk, both disks got erased. I attached the single original working disk to my Linux machine, but I wasn't able to access the data (restored the raid with mdadm, but no filesystem was found). Then in a search for help I stumbled upon this recovery software. It was able to recover photos but the extfs was recognized as well and I was able to access and recover all the content I was missing. Thanks a lot!

I think I have been using this program for about 10 years now. Am on my third subscription, the last two stayed valid way past the end date. I cannot tell you how many Tb i have recovered for myself and others. I cannot thank the people behind this awesome product enough.

This is just a very positive comment to the tool!
my error was: cleared with 'diskpart' all partitiontable entries,
but it was the wrong drive i selected.
tried a lot of tools (like .... and .... a. o.),
but they where not able to restore original folder/file-names or restore original date and time of folders/files.
DMDE found the MFT's of 2 NTFS partitions and recovered 4 TB (!) of folders and files with correct name and date/time, thumbs up!

Found a hard drive in my garage, from 2007. Just by plugging it to my Mac, it would not show up as drive. And after a day of trying bunch of recovery software, which all look awful with childish user interface, I stumbled on a Reddit post recommending DMDE. And I felt in love with the UI and the access to so much advanced options, so I immediately bought the Standard version. And I recovered almost all of the files, some psd files were corrupted. I was fairly confused with how to run the program but the hints within the application helped so much. I have basic knowledge of computers but had no idea about all the file names and data lists, let alone how to recover anything if the hints didn't pop up as I went. I have a drive that used to be in a WD My Book and the card in the enclosure decided to bork up one day. That drive has my whole music library that I ripped from CDs I bought back in the pre .mp3 days. It also had all the rips from my audio books I had on CD.

Due to unfortunate circumstances I don't have the physical media anymore so re-ripping it all was just not an option :(

Absolutely amazing! I recently installed windows 11 after a new motherboard installation, and noticed two of my drives were reassigned to terrible drive letters. In my haste to get things back to normal, I decided to change the letters in Windows' disk management and think nothing more of it, despite the fact one was 8TBs of media, and the other was its backup... Needless to say, a few hours later of seemingly normal operation and all of sudden Windows no longer recognized either drive, with them showing as being unallocated space and their partitions missing. DMDE immediately reassured me that despite the partition errors, the files were all still present, and it only took 5-10m of reading through documentation to then click a couple buttons and fix the drives. Unfortunately, however, their drive letters were reset back to the originals...

5 stars! This software is nothing short of phenomenal. My wifes laptop went into an automatic repair loop and would not boot up no matter what we tried. We called 2 repair techs. The first would have cost a couple of hundred dollars so we passed on him. The second tech, took the computer, had it a couple of days, but was unable to recover anything.
Needless to say, my wife was bummed out losing all her pictures and documents. We happen to have another laptop that I will be replacing the screen on and I thought why not take this one apart and see if the screen might work. In doing so I looked at the failed hard drive and thought, let me give it a shot. I tried a couple of the other recovery program trials and nothing. Then I came across DMDE and figured try it as well. Let me tell you, It
was the best feeling when the files started to show up on the screen. I immediately bought a license and it is the best money I ever spent. I highly recommend it.

I am super happy with that smart tool! Really recommend it. I am a MAC user and I am not a programmer. My RAID1 back-up disk(s) stopped working - neither in RAID or individual. Could not mount it - tried Disk doctor no avail. FSCK command did not work. Looked and downloaded various Disc repair and recovery tools incl. heavily promoted stuff like Disk Drill and similar - all looked very complicated and the price was a bit too high for my taste. Looked around for two days before coming across this sweet tool. Downloaded the basic version first - DMDE could immediately access the disk and within seconds I had a few files recovered!!! Bought the license and as I write this I am happily recovering about 600GB of various data including 20 years of pictures and videos. THX!!!

This software is seriously awesome. I was debating between paying for EaseUS vs. MiniTool recovery and hard drive utility packages, but saw this option on a reddit thread where the common agreement seemed to be "NEITHER, they're both overpriced rip-offs that have limited capabilities compared to DBME." I'm more than satisfied. I've recovered everything I needed from 7 out of 7 messed up hard drives that had various issues from corrupt partition tables, hardware/sector damage, RAW recovery, NTFS repair/rebuilding, and just plain recovering deleted files. I'm more than happy with paying the $20 for such a powerful tool.

My only critique would be the cryptic and slightly disorganized UI, that doesn't DPI-scale properly to 4k screens and takes some time to understand/learn. I am a software developer, and I would love to rewrite the front-end/UI in WPF/UWP/Maui as a modern, easier to use, pretty looking interface.

Impressive piece of software. The only one I could find that doesn't crash when I plug my faulty drive in. Even when the drive disconnects itself mid-operation, the program automatically resumes when it's reconnected, so I've been able to back up all my data with very little inconvenience considering how much damaged the drive is. I probably could have done it using the free version (it limits your batches to something like 4000 files), but at such a low price, I'm happy to own a piece of software that works this well.

After a full WEEK of trying "free" programs to recover files from a secondary drive Win10 decided to "initialize" (was previously my OS drive for Win7) Your program finally let me get the files I needed off it. The whole not needing to deep scan the entire thing was also really great. Helped get into the files faster. Though was a little painstaking having to do it folder by folder, if I have another drive I need to salvage though, you're gonna be my first and possibly last goto. :)

A week ago I had a dead 4TB drive (Partition and MFT errors) and no tools to access it, fast forward a week, with Rawcopy for the clone and DMDE for the file-restoration I soon have the files back. Great tool.

What an incredible piece of software.
I use Stablebit Drivepool on my media server and one of the drives just dropped from the pool. I could no longer access the files although the hard drive properties clearly showed the 5TB of data was still there.

It took a few minutes to browse to the folder structure but wow!!

DMDE Free Edition is actually the best data recovery software I found. I ended up in a situation where I needed to recover several 2+ TB hard drives and with every other software I tried it was a mess of a process with literally days long deep scans and then around $100 for the software.

I was happy to pay the reasonable registration fee for DMDE as it instantly found all the files and even recreated the directory structure -- no incessant wait for deep scans and other nonsense. DMDE just worked.

DMDE is by far the best tool I have found to recover data from damaged drives. It astounds me that the free version, while limited, allows you to recover essentially an unlimited amount of files. The Pro editions are well priced and I will certainly be purchasing a licence soon.

A classic: Changing drive letter in Windows, all of a sudden the file system is corrupted and shown as RAW. The backup was, of course, corrupted.

I've tried many tools before (testdisk, EaseUS, ...). Only the paid ones were able to detect the files.

DMDE is not only the cheapest, but also appears trustworthy.

DMDE is one of the toppest file system low level application that exists. Moreover the updates that the author publishes are periodic and significant.

We use DMDE regularly, much more than industry standard software because it has certain functionalities not found elsewhere.

Needed to recover files from an old CloneZilla backup but the image was corrupt (and would not restore; even with error checking disabled). In Linux I joined all of the .gz.* files together and created a .img from it, but could not mount it because it was currupt, so I plopped that into DMDE and could successfully recover everything!

This is simply superb, worths every single cent of the price and so much more.
I tried many other recovery software and DMDE was the only one to successfully recover data from a disc with the first 10% of sectors filled with raw zeros by human error with a wiping software. It was able to recognize the old partition and recover the data on the rest of the disc.
You really saved my day, thank you very much.

A great software for recovering all my photos!

The only REAL data recovery software.

Insanely good program. MFT on 1 TB drive was corrupt. Ran numerous other recovery programs first and after their "deep scans" that took endless hours I was left with 2.9 million files to dig through. To even recover files with them I needed to plop down $70.

I finally heard about this program and after ten minutes of learning the software I found all 45,000 files I needed right in the one directory I needed. I plopped down my $20 bucks and by morning all files were recovered to different drive!

Now with the right knowledge could someone edit the MFT to actually repair it? It would be nice but either way my lost files are all back!

This software is AWESOME. An example of how software should be made: lightweight, stable, extreme attention to details.

Gdybym odzyskał dane innym program to odtworzenie struktury katalogów i podkatalogów byłoby bardzo pracochłonne. Myślę, że zajęłoby to kilka tygodni przebierania zdjęć i prac.

Whoa... was looking for an app like the 'old' DOS version of Peter Norton's Disk Doctor, and found this WONDERFUL package. Great and powerful tool.

I am trying to debug a laptop load's boot record that functions one way with the bios set to ATA for an Intel ICH8 and another if the bios is set to AHCI.

Fun stuff. :-)

Well.
DMDE is a powerful disk editor utility that I will recommend.
It helps me to recover files that has wrong starting cluster number. Very powerful indeed. I write to their designer with my idea and
I hope a more powerful command line utility will be developed soon.

I tried everything, lots of data recovery programs, some big names, took a couple of hours to find the files and when it restored not everything was readable, this PROGRAM ROCKS, found the files within 1 minute!!! and perfectly recovered the files, life saver. I had a drive that had lost its fat tables the PC could see the drive and recognise the size of the drive and assigned a letter but you could not change to it, just hung, hd light would just blink, this software found the files within a minute and then reovered 500mb in about 8 hours, believe me this is fantastic. The other drive I accidentily deleted the files and again it found all the files within a minute and presented in a tree structure for me to tick what I wanted, couldn't have been simpler ;-) WELL RECOMMENDED

During the upgrade to Windows XP disk hdd with partitions linux-With these modifications was

not known from which arose the problem (NTFS partition has been disguised - no NTFS file

system - unknown disk). When you turn on Debian Linux partition on which Windows XP was a

clean (blank disc), and there arose the problem of the loss of precious pictures, personal

files and records.
I have tried many programs to recover the data, but none met my expectations, after

downloading the free version 2.2.2 DMDE saw that I could recover all my data drive on which

Windows XP was, I was surprised (CUDA or CO, all data - even more).
I decided to purchase DMDE Windows + Linux 2.2.2 Full version - as for me, Best Software for

Hi, I did buy this tool for my own use as my hard drive crashed .... unfortunately that was the only place where temporarily I had all my private content which included a lot of documents/work from studies, family pictures and videos ... after trying other tools I must say that's THE BEST TOOL in the world for recovery. Other tools where struggling with performance, accuracy and number of files recovered, while this one just done the great job ....

This is a high quality software. I would recommend it to any person / company that has to deal with software data recovery. Some nice features in new version. I hope it's developement will be maintained.
As mentioned by "Krzysztof" badsector list that can be further preloded would be a very nice feature. I would also like to thank Dimitri for answering tech and license question via email.

DMDE is the most powerful & feature rich software I have tested so far. As a Data Recovery professional I find DMDE very useful. I am looking forward to have next version released from dmitry.

This is realy best sw yesterday i killed my 1TB hdd i try nearly 30 soft and 5 licensed soft all get data back but txt avi rar all is corrupt and continue search google later i see dmde and bought license its take back all my data without and corrupt thanks who have create this sw or helped him

Rewelacyjny program za rozsądną cenę nowa wersje wprost rewelacyjna powinna mieć możliwość kopiowania wstecznego od LBA ostatniego lub wybranego w stronę LBA 0 . Dodatkowo możliwość pomijania BAD sektorów które by były ładowane do listy a następnie po skopiowaniu wszystkich prawidłowych odczytywane z ustalona ilością razy . Jeśli by była możliwośc Soft resetu przy tym to po prostu rewelacyjne narzędzie.
